At Contrology Connection, we are deeply passionate about the Pilates method and its transformative power. We believe that Pilates is for every body (not a misprint)—regardless of age, experience, or fitness level—and that it holds the potential to change lives both physically and mentally.
Our program was founded on a simple yet powerful belief: that Pilates, when taught with integrity and understanding, can empower individuals and create lasting impact. Contrology Connection blends the classical work of Joseph Pilates with thoughtful elements of contemporary practice. This unique approach allows our instructors to remain rooted in tradition while having the flexibility to adapt and evolve.
Founders Amanda Rhine and Alexandra Francis bring years of experience in both classical and modern Pilates. Their philosophy is clear: by mastering the original method, instructors gain the confidence and knowledge to innovate responsibly and teach with clarity in any studio setting. While they are well-versed in both systems, their hearts remain with the classical work—and it shows in everything we do.
What began as a small mentorship program quickly blossomed into a full certification course as we realized the need for classically grounded instructor training in our community. With few local options and even fewer programs willing to bring the work to our beautiful coastal setting, we decided it was time to build the program we wished we had ourselves—one that creates instructors we’d trust to teach our own bodies, friends, and families.
Amanda Rhine is a comprehensively certified Pilates instructor through The PhysicalMind Institute with extensive classical mentorship, and 15 years of teaching Pilates and Aerial Arts. She has specialized training in pelvic floor Pilates, pre/postnatal Pilates, and is a self-proclaimed "foot and fascia nerd." Amanda began training Pilates instructors in 2015, drawing on her six years as an aerial arts instructor to deepen her expertise in body movement.
Amanda is a Registered Clinical Social Worker and EMDR-trained therapist, blending her passion for physical and mental wellness to help individuals thrive in all areas of life.
Alexandra became comprehensively certified through an international teacher training program for Classical Pilates. Alexandra has flourished since completing her formal training. She continues to perfect her instructional practices and has become an exceptional instructor at Fluid Form Studio. Additionally, she is a certified Aerial Yoga instructor, teaching group classes and offering private sessions within the studio. She is currently completing the Pilates Suspension Method training in order to provide courses fusing the TRX system with traditional Pilates practices. But her mentality is to never stop learning, so you will often see her taking workshops and continuing education with famous elders to better herself and knowledge.
Alexandra’s background in accounting, litigation support in electronic discovery, data forensics, and corporate mergers is what strengthens Contrology Connection LLC on the backend. Countless hours have been invested into developing this program and company to better support our student’s needs. Her goal is to offer a unique approach, pairing current medical research with a functional approach to body mechanics under a mentorship that will further the students and guide them to their certifications.
Jessica is a dual certified Pilates teacher with a true passion for the Classical Method. She also holds certificates in both Personal Training and Corrective Exercise. She completed her mentorship with 3rd Generational teacher Jaime White in 2023 and continues to work with the amazing Sonje Mayo.
Jessica originally found Pilates because it was the only form of movement she could do after she injured her back lifting. Jessica was quickly humbled by the smallest of movements, and the details of the method. But even more than that, amazed at how her body moved and felt outside of the studio. Fo her, this "Art of Control" and mind-body connection was a completely different way to move, but it made sense! She noticed her back pain, neck pain, and regular muscle spasms start to fade away. Because of the dramatic changes she has seen, not just in her body, but in her client's bodies, she is eager to share this amazing form of corrective exercise with everyone, no matter where they are in life. Jessica feels that Pilates meets you where you are today.
Jessica's passion for Pilates and unwillingness to let her own personal practice lessen is a true inspiration making her a perfect fit to mentor and train students with Contrology Connection.
