The Contrology Connection program was built with a clear purpose: to honor the original work of Joseph Pilates while preparing instructors to thrive in today’s Pilates landscape. We believe that a truly great program doesn’t just teach exercises—it builds a deep understanding of the method, the body, and the art of teaching.
Our curriculum is rooted in the classical system, enhanced with contemporary insights to ensure graduates leave with both depth and adaptability. This isn’t about rushing through levels or checking boxes—it’s about producing instructors who are thoughtful, well-rounded, and ready to teach with confidence from day one.
We designed this program as the kind of training we wish had been available to us:
Contrology Connection is more than a certification—it's an immersive journey into the Pilates method, crafted to help you not only understand the "how," but the "why" behind every movement, cue, and modification.
We keep our cohorts intentionally small—just 10 students per group—to provide the personalized attention and mentorship that sets our graduates apart. Whether you're beginning your teaching path or deepening your practice, Contrology Connection will equip you to teach with knowledge, integrity, and passion.
Ask yourself, what type of teacher would you like to become?

Many costs may not be listed up front: cost to observe, equipment needed, book fees, testing fees, if required self-practice hours have to be private sessions with specific persons, if you have to perform unpaid work in their studio, etc. Find out upfront!
As soon as you are registered, start collecting hours of self-practice. Discover the power of Pilates to build strength, flexibility and endurance. Take classes and private lessons.
The more experience you have, the better prepared you will feel. The teacher training program is here to teach you how to TEACH. It is best you are not seeing exercises for the first time on a module weekend. Do not worry, we will offer plenty of optional trainings before the weekends begin.
Once registered, you will be sent an on-boarding email. We will send you logs to track your hours, your online anatomy class to be taken at your leisure before our first program weekend. You will also get links to videos and recommended (but not required) reading material. Your first foundations workbook will be available at your house studio before your first module.
Start your observation hours. Whether in your host studio, or another local studio to you, make sure you follow the studios policies to collect hours of observation. Study their teaching habits. Everyone has their own style. Watch the bodies in the room and how they move with the exercises. Listen to the cues and what seems helpful. Pay attention to how the routines build. Watch for the equipment changes.
